Your New Appliance Is Here. Now It Needs A Sparky.
New oven, cooktop, air conditioner or hot water system that won't run on your existing wiring? ACS Electrical installs the dedicated circuits and power supply Perth homes need — done to Australian Standards, so your warranty stays valid and your family stays safe.

The appliance is the easy part. The wiring is where people get stuck.
You did the right thing. You chose the appliance, organised delivery, maybe even booked the kitchen reno around it. Then someone — the delivery driver, the aircon installer, the salesperson — says the words nobody wants to hear:
"You'll need an electrician for that."
Most homes in Perth — especially anything built before the 2000s — simply weren't wired for the appliances we run today. Older switchboards, shared circuits and a shortage of power points mean modern ovens, induction cooktops, ducted aircon and instant hot water often need their own dedicated supply.
That's not a sales tactic. It's what keeps the appliance running safely and your warranty intact. The good news: this is exactly the work we do every week — and we'll tell you straight away what's needed, what it costs, and when we can have it done.

Safe & Signed Off
Every job meets AS/NZS 3000 with RCD protection and the WA compliance documentation you need.
Appliance & Circuit
Services, By The Moment
Find the situation you're in. Whichever it is, we handle the electrical side properly so your appliance runs safe, compliant and warranty-intact.

Air Conditioning Electrical Connections
You've bought the split system, the installer's booked — then the existing circuit won't carry it or the board's too old. We size the dedicated circuit, check switchboard capacity and coordinate so your installer can finish.
See Split System Installation →
Oven & Cooktop
Wall ovens, freestanding stoves and induction cooktops — hardwired to spec, sized to the appliance.
Get it wired in →
Hot Water Electrical
New connections, controlled-load circuits and fault-finding when the cause is electrical, not the tank.
Maintenance & Repairs →
Kitchen & Laundry Appliance Connections
Dishwashers, rangehoods, washers and dryers — proper outlets and dedicated circuits so you can stop relying on double adaptors and extension leads.
See Power Point Installation →
Dedicated Circuits & Switchboard Capacity
High-draw appliances need their own clean supply. No spare circuit? We sort the board as part of the job, so you're never left half-finished.
See Switchboard Upgrades →What A Dedicated Circuit Actually Means
A single run of wiring from your switchboard that powers one appliance and nothing else — its own breaker, its own protection.
If your oven shares a circuit with the kettle, the toaster and the air fryer, you're asking one circuit to do the work of three. That's where the tripping, dimming lights and slow burn on your wiring start.
| Appliance | Typical Requirement | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Electric / wall oven | 20A–32A dedicated, often hardwired | High continuous load |
| Electric / induction cooktop | Dedicated, frequently hardwired | Pulls very high amps |
| Ducted / split aircon | Dedicated + switchboard capacity | Big start-up & running load |
| Electric hot water | Dedicated (often controlled-load) | Sustained high draw |
| Freestanding stove | Dedicated hardwired supply | Oven + cooktop combined |

Call - 0419 967 838 Request a QuoteAlmost always, yes. Most ovens, cooktops and electric stoves are hardwired to your mains and must be installed by a licensed electrician to meet Australian Standards and keep your warranty valid.
Split and ducted systems draw a lot of power. They usually need a dedicated circuit, and older switchboards often don't have the capacity. We sort the electrical side so your aircon installer can complete their part.
Often it is. Tripping breakers, a faulty element circuit or a controlled-load supply that's dropped out can all cut your hot water. We diagnose the fault and get you back up quickly.
It's a single circuit that powers one appliance only, with its own breaker and protection. High-draw appliances need this so they don't overload a shared circuit and trip the power or overheat the wiring.
Yes — we can safely disconnect and remove your old unit as part of the job where required.
It depends on the appliance and your existing wiring, but we always give you an upfront, fixed-price quote before any work begins. No surprises.
